A calcium-sodium sulfate spring with quiet, mineral-rich body. Weakly alkaline (pH 8.4) and soft on the skin, the water is almost colorless and transparent, tasteless and odorless. It carries 53 mg/kg of metasilicic acid, the kind that leaves a faint film for smoother skin, and the certificate lists cuts, poor peripheral circulation, sensitivity to cold, and dry skin among its documented bathing indications.

209. 伊豆の踊子の宿 福田家, Kawazu Got in for higaeri on the second try, even though there were no listed restrictions. Price is 990, higaeri is from 10:30 to 15:30. You can cross the river via a bridge that doesn't show up on Google Maps. It's on the list of 179 "secret" onsens. They stamp the Shizuoka 60 Onsens rally book. Inside, a cozy stone bath. Water is clear, temperature is hot. Breathing inside is good. Outdoor stone bath with clear water, temperature is hot. The bath has a weak water flow; there were some leaves and fine sediment inside. Given the randomness with higaeri access and the questionable outdoor bath - you can skip it unless you need the achievement.
