炭酸泉源

Tansan-sengen
Carbonated
+ Iron-bearing

A carbonated cold-mineral spring carrying free carbon dioxide along with iron. At a source temperature of roughly 18 °C it falls below the 25 °C cold-mineral threshold and is reheated for bathing. The signboard notes that people once mixed sugar into this carbonated water to drink it as soda, and that the source gave its name to the local 'tansan senbei' crackers.

A tap with drinkable onsen water in the park on the outskirts of Arima. The water is cool, slightly carbonated, with a light sulfur taste, somewhat reminiscent of either Borjomi or some Essentuki (haven't drunk either for a long time, so I don't really remember). This park will be almost the first thing to greet you in Arima if you come on foot, descending the hiking trail from Mount Rokko. If you arrive by ropeway, you'll have to make a small detour on the way to the center. Photos are from the internet and correspond to the description. 2026.05.16
