456. Hakata Onsen Motoyu, Fukuoka Old-school onsen for 500. Operating hours listed as 13:00 to 18:00 (except Thu and Sun). They stamp the 88 Onsen of Kyushu book. Bath photo from the internet, accurate. Small bath inside with clear water, slight sulfur smell. Temperature 46-47. The washing area is also very small. During the visit, the pipes were bubbling, hissing, shooting water jets — a real underground steampunk vibe. The hissing and bubbling went on for quite a while, only stopping after I'd already left the building. Very unique cool place, highly recommended for fans of old-school and underground onsen. 31.03.2025
