About

Nagai Ryokan sits at the Ichinose trailhead for Mt. Hakusan and is a member of the Nihon Hito wo Mamoru Kai (日本秘湯を守る会), the society that preserves remote hot springs across Japan. The two indoor baths offer a lukewarm source-flow pool, kept flowing fresh without dilution, alongside a heated bath for those who want something hotter. The source water has a faint reddish tinge and runs clear and nearly odorless. No outdoor bath, but opening the window brings in the cool mountain air. Popular with hikers coming down from the mountain in summer.
