Simple
A simple alkaline thermal spring drawn from the Koda Pump Station of Gero Onsen. At pH 9.4 it sits firmly in the alkaline range that gives the slippery, skin-smoothing feel of Japan's beauty-water family. The water is lightly mineralized and gentle on the body, yet carries a generous 66.7 mg/kg of metasilicic acid that leaves a thin silica film for noticeably smoother skin.

60. Suimeikan, Gero Onsen
Went with a tegata for higaeri (listed from 12 to 14 on weekdays, 13 to 14 on weekends). Two tegata stickers are needed to access both baths (upper and lower).
1. The upper zone features a large main indoor bath with a view of the town through glass. The main downside is that the glass is wired/reinforced, which degrades the potentially great view. Water is hot, clear, mild smell.
2. Lower zone.
2.1. Indoor bath. Water is hot, clear, mild smell.
2.2. An amazing large outdoor bath. I think this is the best outdoor bath without a view in Gero. The surround is done with large stones, there's an obelisk, two small statues, and the water flows into the bath from above through a small dragon head. Very atmospheric and pleasant to spend time in. Water is clear, slightly milder in temperature than the indoor baths, smell is faint.
Highly recommended to at least visit the lower outdoor bath. Ideally, consider staying overnight to enjoy all the facilities in the evening hours, which aren't available during higaeri. Also located very close to the station.
