About
Niji no Yado (虹の宿) sits by the Chikugo River in Ukiha, Fukuoka. The spring water is famously smooth and faintly sulfurous, and the large communal baths rotate between two configurations so the layout changes from visit to visit. One of the rotations features a rocky open-air bath. The annex, Niji no Yu (虹の湯), has five private kashikiri (貸切) baths of different styles available on a walk-in basis. The building is older but kept clean and calm, with river views from the baths and rooms.
