Day Use
YesOpening days vary by season. In the warmer months it's open daily from 10:00 to 21:00, but from November to March it generally opens only on weekends and public holidays (closed January 1st). Check the facility's own calendar before an off-season visit.
Children pay 200 yen (preschoolers free); a 10-visit ticket book costs 6,000 yen.

About
Yamayuriso is a day-use-only onsen on the Kaida Kogen plateau below Mt. Ontake. There's an indoor bath plus two separate open-air areas, a large rotenburo and a smaller garden bath that alternates between men's and women's use each day. The water is the real draw here, an amber, iron-tinged spring that comes out reddish-brown rather than clear. On a fine day the large open-air bath faces Mt. Ontake directly, and there's a restaurant in the same building. It's tattoo-friendly and welcomes kids.
