Vira Amehata SpringCalcium Sulfate spring
A simple sulfur cold-mineral spring feeding Vira Amehata in Hayakawa-cho, deep in southern Yamanashi. The wellhead emerges below 25 °C — a cold-mineral source heated for bathing — and carries a faint yellow-brown tint with a soft rotten-egg note of H₂S and a bitter edge on the tongue. Neutral pH 7.96 and a light 0.49 g/kg of dissolved solids keep the water gentle on the body, with the sulfur character providing the personality of the bath.
