About

Run by Oshima town and named Gojinka (御神火) after the island's volcano Mt. Mihara, this day-use complex has a large indoor bath, jacuzzi, dry sauna, cold bath, and a 25-meter swimming pool fed by the natural spring water with ocean views. The water is a faintly salty chloride spring. A tatami rest hall and restaurant are on site. On mornings after the overnight ferry from Tokyo docks, the complex opens early to welcome arriving visitors.

710 yen, near the main port. When overnight boats from Tokyo arrive, it opens at 6 AM, otherwise from 9. Onsen somewhat resembling a super sento: two baths at 40, sauna, cold bath, three lying baths, and a bath where you can stand on a cube while a water jet falls on you. Clear water, no smell. Very pleasant onsen, feels like a local community center since there's also a tiny gym, a cafe, and a pool.
