A family-run guesthouse at Yunoo Onsen in Isa, Kagoshima, with a sodium bicarbonate spring that runs a light brown and produces a silky feel on the skin. The indoor baths are open to day visitors; the mixed open-air rotenburo (露天風呂) is for overnight guests only. The river view from the bath window and the home-cooked meals give it a genuine countryside warmth.
