Babadani Onsen Spring Source

Hot spring water seeps up through the riverbed at several spots in Kurobe Gorge, with steam rising from the ground and a faint sulfur smell in the air. The water is scalding straight from the source, so bathing means digging a pool and mixing with the cold river current to bring it to a workable temperature. There is no facility here, no changing area, nothing managed. Getting here takes the Kurobe Gorge Railway to Keyakidaira (欅平) station and then about an hour on foot.
