Shiratama no Yu Kahou (白玉の湯 華鳳) draws from its own sulfur spring, which gives the water a faint emerald-green tint and the characteristic smell that tells you immediately you are in a real onsen. The large communal bath area has indoor pools and a circuit of open-air baths connected by a wooden deck, including rock baths, cypress baths, a reclining bath, and a seated bath, all looking out over rice fields and distant mountains. A sauna with auto-louyu (オートロウリュ) and a chilled water plunge sit alongside the baths. Private reserved open-air baths are also available, and some rooms come with their own outdoor tubs.
