About

Tachibana Shikitei (たちばな四季亭) has been running in the old spa quarter of Yamashiro Onsen since 1868. The inn draws water from its own spring, one of the few private sources left in the district. The communal baths, Ukon no Yu (右近の湯) for men and Sakon no Yu (左近の湯) for women, each open into a natural-stone garden rotenburo where the water flows fresh from the source. All the major room types also have their own hinoki (桧) or stone rotenburo on a private terrace, connected directly to the same spring, so you can soak any time during your stay. Day-use visits are not accepted.
