656. Iseki Onsen Tarai-no-Yu (井関温泉 たらいの湯), Nachikatsuura, Wakayama ★ A wild onsen behind residential houses on the way to Nachi Falls. You need to walk a little from the road, past the houses and the field. There is no changing room, just a table and small wooden stools. It consists of two small tubs filled with hot spring water. The view is of the field and the residential houses. It has that proper slightly sulfurous onsen smell. The water is clear, and both tubs were 36 degrees. It was not very comfortable to sit there, since the tubs are small. But it still felt cozy, especially when the sun came out. If the tubs had been more comfortable, I would have stayed there even longer. 06.11.2025
