A strongly alkaline simple sulfur spring (pH 10.1 at the wellhead) — the pronounced slipperiness of an alkaline 'beauty-water' family member, with just enough hydrogen sulfide to register on the certificate. Total mineralization is light (243 mg/kg) and the source emerges at 27.3 °C, so the water is a cold-mineral spring reheated for bathing. Wellhead color is faintly brown and slightly turbid with a mild earthy note.

661. Nanki Susami Onsen Hotel Bellvedere, Wakayama ★★ Visited for higaeri for 1000. Higaeri hours are 07:00-9:00 and 15:00-19:30. They sell the Wakayama 12 Onsen stamp book. 1. Outdoor area. Ocean view. The area is nicely designed with several palm trees and plants. 1.1. Infinity onsen with clear water, temperature around 44-45. There are a few rocks in the bath, but they feel somewhat unnecessary. If you sit on some of them, your head is visible from cars when someone is leaving the hotel. 1.2. Large barrel in a separate section with stairs. Clear water, temperature around 41.5. 2. Indoor area. Breathing inside is fine. Photos of the bath from the internet match. 2.1. Bath with a view through glass to the outdoor area. Clear water, temperature around 41.5. 2.2. Sauna. 2.3. Cold bath. Great place: the infinity onsen and pleasant outdoor bath area make it recommended for a higaeri visit. 07.11.2025
