A hot (81.7 °C) sodium chloride spring from the Kannawa district of Beppu — weakly acidic, moderately mineralized, with the salty, heat-retaining character that defines chloride waters. It sits among Japan's hottest natural sources. An exceptionally generous 685 mg/kg of metasilicic acid leaves a thin silica film that makes skin noticeably smoother afterwards.
