A sodium-led chloride spring with 21,573 mg/kg of dissolved solids — exceeding ocean salinity, it falls squarely in the strong-salt class and leaves a thick mineral coating on the skin after the bath. The water emerges at a hot 50.4 °C and reads weakly alkaline (pH 8.0), soft on the skin, while the sensory note pairs a strong salty edge with a faint carbonic tang and a slight iron undertone.

About

The large baths on the 3rd floor, called Aoba-no-yu (青葉の湯), run on the hotel's own natural spring for both the indoor and outdoor tubs. The water has a noticeably salty character. The sauna fires auto-louhu cycles throughout the day, and a chiller-cooled cold bath and cooling chairs complete the setup. Bathing is for guests staying at the hotel.

230. Dormy Inn Sendai ANNEX A Dormy Inn in Sendai with a perfectly decent onsen for a business hotel. Has massage. Located not far from the station. Photos of baths from the internet match reality. Inside, a bath with clear water, temperature 41. Breathing inside is fine. There's a sauna. The outdoor bath has no view, with a straw roof overhead. Late in the evening there was some subtle lighting and it was quite cozy. Water is clear, temperature 40. If you're staying in Sendai and really need an onsen, worth considering.
