A free mixed rotenburo (露天風呂) on Hachijojima Island, tucked into a subtropical valley where you can glimpse a small waterfall from the bath. The water is a hot, salty sodium chloride spring, swimmers are required, and the setting in dense green forest gives it an unusually lush atmosphere for a coastal island bath.

Urami-ga-Taki Onsen That onsen where you wear swimsuits: Outdoor, free, you can hear the stream, medium bath. There's a toilet nearby, everything around is covered in greenery, looks like Bali. I didn't enjoy it much right now because there were way too many people. Coming on a weekday would probably be much better.
