About

The Daiichi Hotel sits on Tokachi River and draws from a moor spring (moru onsen, モール温泉), one of the few plant-derived hot springs in the world and a designated Hokkaido Heritage. The water is faintly brownish and noticeably smooth on the skin. The main public bath, Yuraku (湯楽), has wide indoor baths and a garden open-air area with a small waterfall pool. There is also an auto-loyly sauna. Guests in the Hosyutei (豊洲亭) wing have stone open-air baths in their rooms; the other wings also have in-room onsen. A foot bath cafe sits outdoors by the river and is open to day visitors too. The hotel has been part of this onsen town since the 1930s, when the founder drilled for the spring that the whole area now shares.
