Sodium-Calcium Chloride spring

A sodium-calcium chloride strong-salt spring, densely mineralized to a degree that exceeds ocean salinity and leaves a thick salt coating on the skin. The water shows a faint yellow tint with slight turbidity at the source, a strongly salty and bitter character, and a faint sulfurous note. Weakly alkaline and hypertonic, it is the kind of brine that holds heat well and keeps the body warm long after bathing.

284. Hotel Kikusuitei, Hamamatsu Visited for higaeri at 1100 yen. Listed hours are 12:00 to 20:00, but it may not be open or may operate in a different time slot (I got in on my second attempt). They give a stamp for the 60 Onsen of Shizuoka 24/25. Outdoor bath with a great view of the bay and forested mountains. Clear water, temperature 40-41. Indoor bath along two walls of the room. Clear water, temperature 40-41. Comfortable to breathe inside. Given the remote location and the unpredictability of the higaeri hours, it's a questionable spot. But during the daytime, the view from the bath would be really nice.
