Zaborin (坐忘林, za-bo-rin) is a small luxury ryokan in the Niseko area of Hokkaido where all 15 villas come with their own private indoor bath and outdoor rotenburo, fed by the property's own spring running kakenagashi (unrecirculated). The outdoor baths differ by room, some in cypress, others hollowed from large stone, set among old-growth forest with views of Mt. Yotei in the distance. There are no shared baths at all; the water is yours alone. The name carries a Zen idea: to sit still until the world's noise drops away. The ryokan received two Michelin Keys in 2024.
