Classification

Sodium-Magnesium-Calcium Bicarbonate-Chloride spring

A hot (48.4 °C) sodium-calcium bicarbonate-chloride spring — the classic 'jūsō-sen' (soda-water) style softened by a salty bicarbonate-leaning chloride sub-type. Weakly alkaline at pH 7.8, gentle on the skin, and sitting squarely in the Japanese 'beauty-water' family. The water carries only a faint yellow tint at the source with virtually no taste or odor. Unusually rich metasilicic acid at 233 mg/kg leaves the kind of silica film that makes skin feel noticeably smoother afterwards.

About

A bath with the atmosphere of the Showa era hidden in a back alley. Located along National Route 10, next to Don Quijote. Among local baths, it has a well-aged appearance. The men's and women's baths face each other diagonally, a rare entrance style. When you open the door, you see neatly lined washbasins and many considerate notices. The Jizo or Yakushi statue beside the entrance is quite unique. Please try praying to it. Watching the onsen pump diagonally in front of the entrance shaking and making noise as it operates, you can truly feel "right now, this hot spring water is flowing here from underground." Some people are so fond of the water quality that they call it a "local treasure." The fresh, refreshing water is, of course, free-flowing. Although local use is gradually declining, visitors from outside the area are increasing. There are voices saying it suits their skin and improves their condition. Among local baths, the bathtub is large and spacious. Since the water is often hot, if there are previous guests, please ask before adding water.
