YesClosed for renovation of the bathing and changing areas from 17 August 2026 through around mid February 2027; the reopening date will be announced. The private (kashikiri) bath may also close for the winter season (December to March).
Bathing ticket is 500 yen for adults (junior-high age and up) and 250 yen for children (from age 1), good for one hour in the facility. The private open-air bath can be booked separately for a 50-minute session, on top of the bathing ticket, for up to two people or more.

A small communal bathhouse in the middle of Takayu Onsen, run by the local ryokan cooperative since it opened in 2003. There's no indoor bath at all, only three half-open-air tubs, a men's bath and a women's bath (one lined in wood, the other in stone), plus a separate bath you can book for private use. The spring's sulfide gas has to stay outdoors by local health-office rules, so there's no shower or washing area either; bring your own soap and shampoo if you want them. The water is milky white and strongly sulfur-scented, piped straight from a spring close by and left flowing through the tubs unheated and undiluted. The building is built in the plain wooden style of an old toji (湯治) cure-bathhouse, at the edge of the village in the Azuma mountains.
