About

Ryokan Sankai is a small, seven-room inn in Nasu-Yumoto Onsen where the baths were rebuilt in 2024. The water, a mix of the Shika-no-yu (鹿の湯) and Gyounin-no-yu (行人の湯) springs, is cloudy white and clearly sulfurous, with guests often noticing the smell from the entrance. It runs kakenagashi, drawn straight from the source and left to cool naturally rather than being recirculated. The shared bath alternates between men and women on a set schedule, and there are two private baths, free for overnight guests and available for a fee on day visits. Meals are served in the room rather than in a dining hall, and with only a handful of rooms the inn stays quiet even at full capacity.
