Hayataro Onsen Komakusa-no-yu Hot Spring

Today after a mountain hike we stopped by Komakusa no Yu. The water is alkaline, but couldn't find a composition sign. The indoor bath has a mountain view. There's a sauna, cold bath, jet bath, and a medicated bath. The outdoor bath is in stone, with benches and chairs where you can chill and look at the mountains. Water is 40-41, in both the indoor bath and the rotenburo it has a slight chlorine smell. On the second floor there are massage chairs, massage beds, hammocks, and a balcony with a river view. It's peak season now so it's crowded, mostly hikers. There's a restaurant, but better to go to the diner across the street, Meijitei — their sauce katsudon is the local gourmet specialty.
