A hot (46.4 °C) sodium chloride spring rising on the ridge above the Kofu Basin. Weakly alkaline at pH 8.4, the water carries a faint brownish tint, a salty edge on the lips and the unmistakable rotten-egg note of H₂S. Moderate metasilicic acid (50 mg/kg) layers in some skin-smoothing softness, and at 46.4 °C the source is among Japan's hotter natural inflows.
