Shinhotaka Outdoor Public Onsen

A riverside mixed outdoor bath tucked among boulders at the foot of the Northern Alps, open from late April through October. The water is a sodium bicarbonate-chloride spring with a smooth texture, and the rough-cut rock setting makes it feel genuinely wild. Arrive early in the day to beat the crowds.
