261. 川根温泉 ふれあいの泉, Kawane Super sento with onsen water for 820. Listed hours 09:00–19:00 (except Tue). They stamp the 60 Onsen of Shizuoka 24/25 booklet. Part of the electronic Yuru Camp stamp rally. Located away from Shizuoka's urban area to the north, no guides/foreigners, countryside atmosphere (even though the complex itself is large). Inside there's food, massage, a shop, a restaurant, and a great selection of local tea. They said tattoos are okay, but old Google photos show prohibition signs — better to confirm. The main feature — you can see the railway tracks from the outdoor bath, and trains pass by periodically (there's even a train schedule posted in the onsen). You might even catch Thomas the Tank Engine. Online photos of the train and baths match for the baths. 1. Outdoor bath area with views of a bridge with railway tracks, a dried-up river (at the time of visit), mountains, and forest. 1.1. The hottest bath with a red layer of deposits on the stone, on the upper level. Slightly cloudy clear water with occasional brown lime. Temperature 44. 1.2. Bath on the lower level, slightly cloudy clear water, temperature 42. Strong slippery/soapy effect in the water. 1.3. Separate large stone bath under a canopy, slightly cloudy clear water, temperature 41. Strong soapy effect. 1.4. Square wooden bath, slightly cloudy clear water, temperature 43. Strong soapy effect. 1.5. Bean-shaped bath. Temperature 41. 2. Indoor bath with slightly cloudy clear water, temperature 41, strong soapy effect. Comfortable to breathe inside. Amazing place — highly recommended to visit.
