A simple thermal spring rising from Nirayama Onsen Tochi Spring No. 3. At 29.2 °C it is a cold-mineral source, heated for bathing, and its weakly alkaline chemistry (pH 8.7) gives the soft, slippery feel of Japan's beauty-water family. Lightly mineralized and very gentle, it is the kind of low-temperature water suited to long, unhurried soaks — fitting for Hatake Onsen, a designated national health resort spring.

Seizan's baths are built around Hatake (畑毛)'s mild, cool-running spring water. The indoor bath is set up as a handful of tubs at different warmths, from close to the spring's natural temperature up to a proper hot soak, so you move between them and end up staying in far longer than you would at an ordinary bath. There's also a stone-walled open-air bath, plus a reservation-only private bath for a quieter soak. The building itself is a renovated older ryokan that reopened as Seizan, and it leans into Hatake's tradition as a toji (湯治) town, a place for slow, extended soaking rather than a quick dip. Day-use bathing is welcome, though overnight guests get priority.

256. Izu Hatage Onsen Seizan, Kannami I went for a day trip bath for ¥700 (listed from 09:00 to 22:00). The staff were very attentive. There were a lot of older men at the hotel itself. There are magazine articles about the hotel on the wall in different magazines. They stamp the Shizuoka 60 Onsen 24/25 stamp rally. The bath photos are from the internet, and they match. 1. Indoor area. The water is clear. It is comfortable to breathe. 1.1. Jet bath, temperature 30. 1.2. Jet bath, temperature 35. 1.3. Main bath, temperature 41. 2. Outdoor bath with a view of the fence siding. If you stand up, you can see the power lines and the tops of the trees. The water is clear, temperature 37. 10.11.2024
