An inn in a forested valley near Yakumo that feels like it was built for people who take bathing seriously. Named to commemorate a silver wedding anniversary, both the emperor's and the original owners', it has a long, unhurried history. The highlight is a network of private and semi-private outdoor baths scattered deep in the woodland, some reachable only by crossing a suspension bridge over a stream. The water is a bicarbonate-sodium spring, warm and smooth.
