Spa Resort Ogoto Agaryanse

Agaryanse taps two natural springs on its own grounds to fill a wide range of baths. The signature open-air area looks straight out over Lake Biwa, with options ranging from individual Shigaraki-ware tub baths (tsubo-yu, つぼ湯) and a lying-down shallow pool to jet and electric outdoor baths. Inside there is a carbonated bath, an eight-station circuit of jet massage baths, a power bath for full-body massage, and rotating daily baths. Sauna fans get a high-heat room with a louyu (ロウリュ, steam-and-aroma ritual) service, a women-only salt sauna, and an outdoor barrel sauna; the cold plunge goes 110 cm deep on the men's side. There is also a ganbanyoku (岩盤浴, heated bedrock room), a foot bath at the entrance, three restaurants, and a large rest area with reclining chairs.
