  • Smooth skindry, rough skin

A sodium chloride hot spring at 45.7 °C, isotonic and near-neutral (pH 6.0 at the wellhead). Moderately mineralized at 9.87 g/kg, with noticeable body — salty, heat-retaining chloride water. Metasilicic acid is generous at 152 mg/kg, leaving the kind of thin silica film that makes skin feel smoother afterwards, in the Japanese "beauty-water" family. The lab sample develops a faint iron note on standing, hinting at the trace iron the cert reports.

Sea

About

A small town-run indoor bath on Hachijojima, with naturally flowing spring water that is faintly salty and smooth on the skin. The sea comes into view from the bath's edge, and a tatami rest area inside makes it easy to linger. Popular with locals, it has the feel of a neighborhood fixture.

Yasuragi-no-Yu Third onsen on the bus pass. One medium bath, very clear water, there's an ocean view from the window if you stand up. Water 42 degrees. There's a chill room with a TV, tatami, and a vending machine.
