Ringo no Yuya Obu (林檎の湯屋おぶ〜) is a large day-use bath complex in Matsumoto. The indoor section has a carbonated bath, a slow-soak bath for gentle warming, four styles of jet bath, and an electric bath (the facility claims the largest lineup of electric baths in Japan). Outside, the rotenburo takes an old Kyoto aesthetic with views of the open sky. For cooling down there is a solo cold plunge filled with binchotan charcoal water. The sauna hall runs three rooms for men and two for women, all with lauyu (steam-pouring) options. A separate ganbanyoku area (heated stone bath) is available for an extra fee. Drinking water from the North Alps aquifer flows from a tap near the sauna area. The restaurant serves seasonal local food; a cafe and gelato counter are also on site.
