Nomizo Onsen Senju no Yu

A compact day-use bath tucked into the hills of southern Chiba. The single indoor bath per gender is kept small on purpose, the spring flowing in fresh and unfiltered (kakenagashi, 源泉掛け流し) the whole time. The water runs a warm brownish color with flakes of yuno-hana (湯の花) floating in it, carries a faint sulfur scent, and leaves skin noticeably smooth. A window looks out onto the surrounding forest. After soaking, the rest room has tatami and green tea to sit with. The whole place fits maybe a dozen people at once, which is part of the appeal.
