530. Kiku-no-Yu Onsen, Kofu, Yamanashi ★★★ Awesome old-school sento with onsen water for 470. Bring your own body wash/shampoo or buy there. A cheerful old lady at the register who speaks decent English. From the register, both changing rooms are visible, and the men's side is fully visible including partially the baths themselves. Various retro posters hang in the changing room, adding to the atmosphere. They even designed the sento's business card as a collectible card and hand them out for free. They stamp the Yamanashi 100 Onsen book. Bath photos are from the internet, match the real thing. Indoor area. Breathing inside is good. 1. Two baths in the center. The large one has two jets, the small one has gentle bubbles. Clear water, temperature around 40-41. 2. Corner bath with strong bubbles. Clear water, temperature around 37. 3. Sauna. 4. Cold bath. Amazing sento, highly recommended. Super atmospheric and pleasant to be in — you can feel the soul of the place. 11.05.2025
