530. Kiku-no-Yu Onsen, Kofu, Yamanashi ★★★ A cool old-school sento with onsen water for 470. You need to bring your own gel/shampoo or buy it there. Opening hours are listed as 10:00 to 21:30 (except Wed). A cheerful grandma at the cashier who speaks English pretty well. From the cashier, both changing rooms are visible, and the men's one is fully visible, at least partly, all the way to the baths themselves. Various old-school posters are hung in the changing room, which adds to the atmosphere. They even made the sento's business card in the form of a card, and give it out for free.
