Kasuga onsen

71. Kasuga Onsen, Beppu True old-school grandpa bath. Nothing extra — no towels, no soap, no shower, no staff. Payment is 200 yen into a box. You stamp your own passport. Clear, hot water, comfortable to breathe. During my visit I crossed paths with an old man, and we exchanged mutual respect. As I was leaving, two guys came in, got into the bath, and started turning valves and doing things with the pipes around the bath. Highly recommended for old-school enthusiasts.
