Poka-Poka Land Miasa

Poka-Poka Land Miasa is a roadside-station inn, michi-no-eki (道の駅), tucked into the hills below the Northern Alps in Nagano, with a bath open to day visitors as well as overnight guests. The main bath has indoor tubs, an open-air rotenburo, and a sauna with a cold plunge; the water is mild and gentle on the skin, said to suit almost anyone. Alongside it sits a separately run bath called Hokuto-seki-no-yu (北投石の湯), its water passed over Hokuto mineral stone brought from Tamagawa Onsen in Akita, a rare stone now protected as a natural monument. There's also a reservable private bath, and the trailer-house guest units each come with their own outdoor tub. The inn doubles as a roadside stop, with a restaurant serving local Shinshu beef and salmon and a shop for souvenirs, so it's as much a rest stop for passing drivers and hikers as a place to stay the night.
