About

Yakushi-no-yu is the bathing wing of a roadside station (michi-no-eki, 道の駅) in the mountains of Ogano, on the Chichibu side of Saitama. There is just one indoor bath, fitted with jets and a bubble section, and reviewers note the water feels distinctly smooth and slippery on the skin. There is no sauna and no outdoor bath, so it's a quick, no-frills soak rather than a destination onsen. The place doubles as a stop on a touring route, with a free rest area where you can stretch out on tents and hammocks, an attached restaurant, and parking that includes a sheltered spot for motorcycles.
