Uchiyama is a small minshuku in Fukuji Onsen with only four guest rooms, so the baths rarely feel crowded. There is one small reservable open-air bath for two or three people, plus separate indoor baths for men and women; none of the rooms have their own bath or toilet. The outdoor bath sits beside a steep mountain stream, and the mountains around Fukuji are visible from the guest rooms. Reviewers describe quiet nights with just a couple of guests and the okami running the place alone, more like staying with family than checking into a hotel.
