481. Yumimatsu Onsen, Beppu ★ An old-school onsen, members only. It was open to the public during the Beppu Onsen Festival as part of the onsen marathon from 08:00 to 14:00. No staff, no soap, and no shower. During the festival, they stamp the Beppu onsen-do seal, to get it you need to leave the onsen room and walk a little to the right. The water is clear, and the temperature is 43. The air inside is easy to breathe. There is plenty of mold, a very worn-down onsen. But that is what makes it memorable and special. 04.04.2025
