Water from Beppu City's municipal hot-spring supply line (Fujimi Line): the certificate samples the storage-tank outlet that pools the Tsurumien No. 1 wellhead with other city sources, so what reaches the bath is a blend rather than a single well. Chemically it is a simple thermal spring, neutral and hypotonic and only lightly mineralized at 723 mg/kg, which makes for a gentle, unfussy soak. The one striking number is metasilicic acid at 151 mg/kg, enough to place it in Japan's beauty-water family and to leave the thin silica film that makes skin feel noticeably smoother afterwards.
