A gentle simple thermal spring, sampled not at a wellhead but at the outlet of a storage tank that blends the city-owned Unsenji source with others. Neutral in pH and only lightly mineralized, it feels soft rather than assertive on the skin. What lifts it is metasilicic acid at 159 mg/kg — generous enough to place it in Japan's beauty-water family and to leave the thin silica film that makes skin feel noticeably smoother afterwards.
