Shin'noji Onsen Sagamiya Ryokan (新野地温泉 相模屋旅館) sits in the Fukushima mountains as a member of the Nihon Hito wo Mamoru Kai (日本秘湯を守る会), the Japan Secret Hot Spring Association. The water is a rich sulfur spring, milky white-green and kept flowing fresh without recirculation (kakenagashi). Baths include four cypress-lined indoor pools and outdoor rotenburo on the upper floors, plus a ground-floor wild open-air bath (noten-buro) reached by a wooden walkway through the beech forest. The outdoor baths look out over steam rising from the hillside and the surrounding mountains.
