Classification

Sodium Bicarbonate spring

A sodium-led bicarbonate spring — the classic jūsō-sen (soda-water) style, soft on the skin and squarely in the Japanese beauty-water family. A generous 207.5 mg/kg of metasilicic acid leaves the kind of silica film that makes skin feel noticeably smoother. The well emerges at a scalding 94 °C, among Japan's hottest natural sources, yet reaches the bath undiluted at 100% source strength as free-flow with no recirculation.

228. Kanshichi-yu, Naruko Onsen Visited on higaeri for 2 stickers on the local tegate (listed from 08:00 to 20:00). Main large indoor bath. Water is clear, there was black lime deposit that I initially mistook for dirt, since there were also hairs in the bath. Water temperature 40, breathing is tolerable. The second section of the bath had no water. Small indoor bath with a separate changing room. Water is clear. There was also black lime here, but less. No hair in this bath. Water temperature 40, breathing is tolerable. A questionable place, more likely a skip.
