593. Yumura Tokiwa Hotel, Kofu, Yamanashi (pt.2) ★★ 1. First bath set (male/female rotation). 1.1. Outdoor bath in stone, deep. Clear water, temperature around 41°C. View from the bath is inner — surrounding plants. Very cozy in the evening. 1.2. Indoor bath. Clear water, temperature around 42°C. Breathing inside is fine. 2. Second bath set (male/female rotation). 2.1. Outdoor square bath. Practically no view from the bath, but it's cozy. If you stand at a certain edge, you can barely make out Fuji through a curtain while standing. Clear water, temperature around 41-42°C. 2.2. Indoor bath. Clear water, temperature around 41-42°C. Breathing inside is comfortable. Very solid place, worth considering when choosing accommodation in Kofu. Ideally — check out the separate garden cottages. 15.05.2025 16.05.2025

593. Yumura Tokiwa Hotel, Kofu, Yamanashi (pt.1) ★★ Stayed overnight, located 10-15 minutes from Kofu Station by car or public transport. There are higaeri onsens within walking distance nearby, but the hotel itself no longer offers higaeri (it used to). Morning view of Fuji from the room window. Had dinner and breakfast — kaiseki served in a private room. Dinner was decent, breakfast was really good (especially the freshly cooked udon). They stamp the Yamanashi 100 Onsen book — while in the 2022 edition booklet this number has a placeholder, they do have a stamp and it's in excellent condition. Baths rotate between male/female. There's a nice inner courtyard. In the courtyard there are also cottages you can rent for the night — as I understood, these cottages have their own baths, which would be a very interesting and cool option for staying (I had a regular room in the main building). The hotel serves as a base for Japanese chess (shogi) tournaments — lots of tournament photos, champion photos, various artifacts and awards. Special mention for the changing rooms by the onsens. They're very spacious, with excellent temperature balance, a Dyson dryer, free ice cream inside, unlimited towels. But most importantly, they're very cozy — in the evening I was there solo and after the onsen I didn't even want to leave, ended up hanging out in the changing room. 15.05.2025 16.05.2025
