About

Ponpoko is a day-use bathhouse on a hillside above Nakano, with an indoor bath, a sauna, a cold plunge, and an outdoor bath that looks out over the Zenkoji plain and the Kitashin Five Peaks. The spring water is clear and faintly salty, and there is also a nuruyu tub kept close to body temperature for a longer soak. It is a modest family spot: a kids' play area, table tennis and retro video games in the lounge, and a ramen counter serving noodles from a well-known Ibaraki chicken-broth shop.
