About

Zenigame sits in the mountain valley of Yuwaku Onsen outside Kanazawa, inside a farmhouse manor that was reportedly used as a rest stop by the Kaga domain's Lord Maeda during hawking trips. The indoor baths (separate for men and women) use a cypress tub fed by the inn's own spring in kakenagashi style, flowing fresh and unfiltered. The water runs slightly cooler than many onsen yet leaves you thoroughly warm. Overnight stays are limited to three groups at a time, and meals lean on local mountain vegetables and river fish cooked over an irori sunken hearth.
