A gentle alkaline simple thermal spring rising from the Shin-chōyusō tank in Isawa, Fuefuki. With a pH around 9 it has the slippery feel of Japan's beauty-water family, smooth on the skin. The water is colorless, clear, tasteless and odorless, and lightly mineralized for an easy, undemanding soak.

About

Hanasuisho is a small, 20-room ryokan in Yamanashi's Isawa onsen district with two rotenburo: a rock bath set in a garden and a second one scented with hinoki, plus one indoor bath. The spring water is clear, colorless, and odorless, and gentle on the skin, and the baths stay open around the clock apart from a short evening swap between the men's and women's sides. The inn leans deliberately casual: instead of constant attentive service and course-by-course kaiseki, guests move between the baths, a self-service lounge with free-flow drinks and snacks, and their room, at their own pace.

567. Hanasuisho, Fuefuki, Yamanashi ★ Stayed overnight without meals. They issue Toreco cards for the onsen, but they didn't understand me right away and found them on the second try. Room is comfortable, but it was a bit stuffy before turning on the AC. When staying overnight, onsens are available 24 hours. Baths rotate between male/female at 19:00. There was a cool story with the booking on Trip.com. I booked a night, but only a pre-authorization of 11k rubles went through (the room itself costs 19.7k yen, paid on-site). Already in Kofu I get a notification from Trip that my booking was canceled because rooms ran out — they'd refund the pre-auth amount plus bonus compensation in Trip coins (about 7k rubles). I was running around and didn't rebook right away. Two days later I book and see the same hotel, book the same room for the same dates, but with prepayment for 12.4k rubles. Checked in without issues, so the room ended up costing 5k rubles total. Only made it to one set of male/female baths — the one with a stone rotenburo: 1. Outdoor bath in stone. No view, behind a fence. Clear water, temperature around 40°C. 2. Indoor bath with an additional zone. Clear water, temperature around 42°C. Breathing inside is fine.
