601. Fudouguchikan, Inunakiyama Onsen, Osaka ★★ Stayed overnight. There's a higaeri onsen for 900 yen, from 11:00 to 21:00. Various higaeri plans with meals available. Guests can also book a private open-air bath for 2750 yen (didn't take it). The ryokan is in the small village of Inunakiyama Onsen, 30 minutes by car and 40 minutes by public transport from Kansai Airport. Had dinner and breakfast, both were good. Dinner — kaiseki served in the room, lots of food. Breakfast — Japanese style with extra vegetables, carrot juice, and yogurt available (the vegetables and juice were very tasty). In June there was an evening event to go see fireflies (didn't attend). Room is good, but a bit stuffy without the AC on. 1. Outdoor semi-enclosed stone bath with a view of the forest and river. Sitting the view fades, but standing it's gorgeous. There's a wooden railing that blocks some of the view when you sit in the bath. But it's convenient for standing at the edge — you can lean on it. Clear water with a soapy feel. Temperature around 42°C. 2. Indoor bath. Clear water with a soapy feel. Temperature around 42.5°C. Breathing inside is fine. Good place, recommended for a visit. Inunakiyama Onsen overall can be combined with an overnight stay after arriving or before departing from KIX. The village is small, but a full ryokan experience, neighboring higaeri spots, and a bit of walking around are enough to enjoy a pleasant time and relax in an onsen village. 12.06.2025 13.06.2025
