YesAfter the bathing hours end, guests can stay in the building a little longer: until 19:30 on weekdays and 15:00 on weekends and holidays. A change to day-use hours was announced for September 1, 2026, but the notice is posted only as an image, so the new times aren't confirmed here.
Day-use bathing costs 480 yen for adults (12 and up), 170 yen for ages 6 to 11, and 80 yen for under 6, tax included. A face towel is sold for 250 yen; bath towels aren't sold but can be rented for 350 yen.

Oofunato Onsen is a hot spring ryokan on the Sanriku coast, built above Ofunato Bay in Iwate. The indoor bath is a wide room with big windows over the water and both a hot tub and a cooler one, and the rotenburo outside catches the sea air and the sound of the waves. The water is faintly salty and heated over a wood fire, which keeps it soft on the skin. On the grounds there's also a free footbath, Fukko no Yu (復興の湯), open to anyone by the water. Guest rooms range up to a top-floor room with a wide sea view, and dinner leans on fresh local seafood. Reviewers often mention watching the sunrise from the open-air bath.
